Different Types of Fire Extiguisher& Operation Method

A Fire Extinguisher is a device used to put out fires. They are designed to expel a fire-suppressing agent in order to extinguish or control a fire. There are different types of fire extinguishers suitable for different kinds of fires:

1. PowderExtinguishers: These are used on Class A (wood, paper, fabric), Class B (flammable liquids), and Class C (electrical) fires.

2. Water Extinguishers: These are typically used on fires involving ordinary combustibles like paper, wood, and cloth.

3. Foam Extinguishers: These are used on fires involving flammable liquids like gasoline, diesel, or oil.

4. Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Extinguishers: These are used on electrical fires, as well as fires involving flammable liquids and combustible metals.

Operation Method

To use a fire extinguisher, you typically follow these steps:

- Shake the extinguisher to ensure the powder mixes well.

- Point the nozzle at the base of the fire.

- Aim at fire scource and press the lever to release the extinguishant.

- Scan the area after the fire is out to ensure it does not reignite.
